| Licorice | Glycyrrhiza glabra | 1⁄2 oz. |
| Cinnamon | Cinnamonum zeylanicum | 2 drams |
| Ginger | Zingiber officinalis | 1 dram |
| Sugar | Saccharum | equal to the rest |
Preparation:
Boil the sugar with Plantain water to a syrup, add the rest in powder.
Function:
Clears Heat, strengthens Lung Qi and Yin, stops Bleeding
Use:
1. Spitting Blood with Lung deficiency
Dose:
1–2 drams
Comment:
This nourishes the Lungs and thickens the Blood so was used for Lung weakness with hot, thin and sharp Blood that causes Bleeding.
