* Aur is a traditional weight being that of a Gold coin. Over time, it was reduced from over 8 grams to around 6 grams. The weights may be adjusted for modern use.
Preparation:
Powder and mix with Honey to form an Electuary
Function:
Clears Damp, thins Thick Phlegm, Benefits the Senses, Warms
Use:
1. Phlegm and Damp affecting the Stomach
2. Phlegm and Damp affecting the Head
3. Phlegm and Damp affecting the Lungs
4. Dullness of the Senses from Damp
Dose:
as much as a Hazelnut
Comment:
The source text says ‘… because it strengthens the natural heat in their bodies’ (quia confortat calorem naturalem in corporibus eorum).
