Mu Li (Oyster Shell) Concha Ostrea 15–30 grams
Huang Qi (Astragalus) Astragalus mongholicus 9–15 grams
Ma Huang Gen (Ephedra root) Ephedra sinica 3–6 grams
Fu Xiao Mai (Light Wheat) Triticum aestivi 15–30 grams

Preparation:

Powder, using equal parts of each herb
It is also prepared as a decoction with the doses given above. The Oyster shell is crushed and decocted for 45 minutes before adding the herbs.

Function:

Benefits Qi, Restrains Yin, Stops Sweating

Use:

1. Spontaneous Sweating
2. Night Sweats
3. Insomnia or Palpitations with Sweating

Dose:

Take 9 grams as a draft, twice daily.

Cautions:

Not used for Night Sweats from Yin Deficiency (use Liu Wei Di Huang Wan etc.)

Modifications:

1. Strong to stop Sweating, add Schisandra Wu Wei Zi.
2. Yin deficiency, add Paeonia Bai Shao and Rehmannia Sheng Di Huang.
3. Insomnia, add Anemarrhena Zhi Mu.
