* The Faecula (also called the Precipitate) of Bryony is made as follows: Take Bryony roots, cut and bruise them, then strongly express the juice. Set in a cold place, and let it stand to settle. This will cause a white powder like starch to precipitate to the bottom. Pour off the juice, and dry the precipitate in the shade; keep for use.
