Barley prepared ** Hordeum vulgare 5 oz. 30 drams
Sweet Almond Prunus amygdalus dulcis 4 oz. 60 drams
White Poppy seed Papaver somniferum 1 lb. 30 drams
Biscoti bread Saccharum alba 30 drams
White Sugar 100 drams

* Two version gave different proportions. The left column is from Mesue, the right from Pharmacopoeia Persica
** The Cicer, Wheat and Barley are washed, then soaked in milk, then dried. The version in Pharmacopoeia Persica said to wash Cicer in equal parts of Vinegar and Water, the other grains being just washed.
*** The Rice is soaked in water, then dried

Preparation:

Prepare the ingredients, then Powder and mix well.

Function:

Nourishes and increases Qi, Yin and Blood

Use:

1. used for chronic Weakness with Wasting;
2. good for the Young or Elderly who are de
ficient.
3. Useful for Malnourishment.

Dose:

Up to 1⁄2 oz. with Milk
