Amount

Preparation:

All the stones must be thoroughly prepared by levigation until they are impalpable.
Powder the herbs, add the prepared stones and gold and silver leaf, mix well, and with a sufficient amount of Rose water to form a paste, make small pills. It can be kept as a powder by allowing the Rose water to dry and powdering the mixture.

Function:

Clears Heat, Settles Wind, Calms the Heart and Spirit, Strengthens Qi, Benefits Essence

Use:

1. Tonic to the Vital Organs
2. General Fatigue and Weakness
3. Convalescence
4. Exhilarant
5. Heart weakness, chronic Heart failure, Cardiomyopathy
6. Palpitations
7. Arrhythmias
8. Stress, Anxiety
9. Depression
10. Insomnia
11. Epilepsy
12. Mental illness (Melancholy) including Mania and Schizophrenia
13. Emotional Trauma, PTSD
14. Dementia
15. Menorrhagia

Dose:

60–120mg, given with Honey or Milk
If using an OTC product, use as directed.

Cautions:

1. The Stones must be properly prepared
2. Emerald contains Beryllium which is toxic

Modifications:

1. Some versions add other medicines such as Tabasheer, Musk, Silkworm Cocoon and burnt Deer horn.
2. Some versions use Bhasma of Gold of Silver rather than the leaves.
3. Chronic Heart disease or for Depression, add Saffron


HIV
Tested in HIV positive individuals and found useful in the improvement of quality of life (Qureshi, 2008). Further studies clinically assessed signs and symptoms of HIV/AIDS patients and also found remarkable improvements (Qureshi, 2015).
