Preparation:
Boil 2 drams of Tamarinds in 2 oz. of Rose water, strain, add 2 drams of Manna, then the juices and the rest in powder; form Troches
Function:
Clears Heat from the Stomach, Liver, Kidneys and Bladder
Use:
1. Fever, including Burning (High) Fever
2. Thirst during Fever
3. Hot Catarrh
4. Lung Heat, Heat-type Cough
5. Jaundice from excess Bile, Bile obstruction
6. Abscess and Swelling of the Liver
7. Liver Heat, Hepatitis
8. Liver obstruction, Liver pain
9. Spleen Obstruction
10. Stomach Heat
11. Diarrhea from excess Bile
12. Excess Heat of the Kidney and Bladder
13. Cachexia
Dose:
1⁄2–1 dram, up to 2 drams
