* Two sources have given different proportions. The left column is from Men Tsee Kang, the right column is from Amdo Compendium.
** Calcite is fried, then Chang (Barley alcohol) is poured over, then covered with a lid to prevent the release of steam. When dry, it is powdered for use.
*** Men Tsee Kang version does not contain Shilajit

Preparation:

Form Pills; also used in Powder form.

Function:

Warms the Yang, Improves Digestion

Use:

1. Indigestion
2. Bloating, Abdominal distention
3. Vomiting
4. Diarrhea
5. Heartburn
6. Formation of Stomach lump from congealed Phlegm
7. Brown Phlegm (Bad kan smug po) from Cold
8. Loss of Body Heat (Yang)
9. Poisoning (Amdo Compendium)
10. Alcoholic Liver disease (Amdo Compendium)
11. Improves appearance and strength of the body

2–3 grams

Modifications:

1. “Secret Recommendations” for the use in Bad kang smug po adds (to the version from Amdo Compendium above): Cowrie bhasma (Mgron bu’i thal ba), Saffron (Kha che gur gum), Meconopsis (Utpal), Dracocephalum (Pri yang ku), Adhatoda (Ba sha ka) and Emblic Myrobalan (Sky ru ra), of each 10 grams.
